Our Mission statement
At The Chocolate Truffle Company it is our mission to provide complete satisfaction with first-class products and exemplary service, subject to the conditions and clauses below -
Gift Card Messages
We will include a free gift message with every order, as requested. We reserve the right to edit any message that contains offensive and/or inappropriate content.
Orders/Delivery
We do not dispatch on saturdays or sundays.
All orders are dispatched within a minimum of THREE working days from the receipt of your order, excluding saturday and sunday. If you require a specific delivery date for your chocolate please email Christine who will confirm your request.
No order is accepted by ‘The Chocolate Truffle Company’ until the order has been checked and approved. If there is a problem we will e-mail you within one working day.
All orders will attract an additional charge for postage and packing at the time of ordering. Each order will be dispatched by first class recorded post within the UK. The United Kingdom is defined as the U.K. mainland, Northern Ireland, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. We do not deliver outside of these areas. All deliveries will require a signature upon receipt to ensure their secure arrival. We do not dispatch to addresses outside of the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately we do not accept deliveries to PO Boxes.
It is the purchasers’ responsibility to provide correct delivery details and we cannot accept responsibility for return postage costs or items lost or damaged in transit to us or in any other circumstances beyond our control.
We do not despatch on Saturdays or Sundays
All orders are despatched within a minimum of three working days from receipt of your order, excluding Saturday and Sunday. If you require a specific delivery date for your chocolates please email Christine who will confirm your request.
Please ensure that there is someone to accept delivery during weekday working hours. In cases of failed delivery a card will be left to inform the recipient of how they can collect their parcel or arrange re-delivery. It then becomes the recipient's responsibility to arrange an alternative re-delivery date. We accept no liability if delivery is not made due to the recipient not being available, or if goods become spoiled as a result of non-delivery.
We will deliver to the address as quoted and cannot accept any liability for late or failed delivery if the address supplied is incorrect.
Payment - Pay Pal
We take payment at the time of order, not necessarily the time of despatch. The majority of our orders are processed through Pay Pal. In the event that you send your order via e-mail we will contact you to confirm your details and secure payment. Please note that general e-mail correspondence is not encrypted and is, therefore, not considered a secure means of sending credit card details.
Pay Pal accept the following credit cards: Amex, Visa, Delta, Electron, MasterCard, Eurocard, Maestro, Switch and Solo. The Credit Card holder will be required to provide their registered address, which is used to validate the order with their chosen credit card company. Failure to provide the correct details will result in your order being held pending the supply of precise details.
Privacy Statement
In line with the Data Protection Act 1998 we will not retain any of your sensitive personal financial information.
The information we retain on record will include the following:
Name; address; delivery address; phone number; fax number; e-mail address and order history.
Promotions - From time to time we may send out promotional material or special offers to our customers via e-mail. If you specifically do not want to be notified of forthcoming promotions please notify us at time of order.
Cancellations (perishable goods)
Our truffles (including wedding favours) have a short shelf life and are perishable therefore we can only accept cancellation prior to dispatch of order. Once your order has been dispatched it will not be possible to accept cancellations. To cancel your order please contact Christine on 01245 257 628.
Cancellations (chocolate bars)
Chocolate bars have a longer shelf life and therefore as a consumer you have the right to cancel your order. The cancellation period starts the day after the order is received by the consumer and lasts for seven working days. Please note customers returning chocolate bars will have to pay for the cost of postage.
Damaged Items
All our truffles are despatched in perfect condition, as we take great care in packing them. However, if any items are unfortunately damaged in transit by circumstances beyond our control, you can return them to us at the address below. Once we have received the item (s), we will refund the full purchase cost of that item (s) or send out a replacement by return and refund any reasonable postage costs that you have incurred. Returns
The Chocolate Truffle Company, 43 Rookes Crescent, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 3GL.
Substitution
In the unlikely event that we cannot satisfy your order due to stock unavailability, we will contact you to offer you an alternative. If you are not totally happy with the alternative offered your order can be cancelled at no charge.
Prices
We reserve the right to alter prices without notice, however we will guarantee the price you pay will be the price advertised on this web site at the time and date you placed your order.
Complaints
If you have sent chocolates, or indeed received a gift with which you are not entirely happy, please contact us by phone or e-mail with your comments; we need to know if we can improve, and will do all we can to put it right for you. We will endeavour to respond to all complaints within 24 hours. If you specifically do not want to be notified of forthcoming promotions please notify us by email or phone.
These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
